A. To breastfeed your baby effectively, offer one breast at a time and let the baby feed until they release it on their own—this usually takes 15–20 minutes. Then, if your baby still seems hungry, you can offer the second breast. Always start the next feeding with the opposite breast. Breast milk should be the primary source of nutrition for babies up to 6 months. If you’re combining with formula or top feed, it’s best to consult your pediatrician for the right balance based on your baby’s weight and needs. Watch for signs of fullness like slowing down or turning away from the breast.
