Q.

#AskTheExpert Hi, This query is related to Covid vaccine. my wife is 7+ month pregnant. we are confuse whether we should go with covid vaccine or not will it be safe for both mother and children at this stage. if yes. then which vaccine we should opt for covishield/ covaxin. please suggest.

A. yes definitely any Covid vaccine like covishield / covaxin / sputnik can be given safely to nursing mothers and pregnant women as per the latest recommendation which is approved by govt of India.children are still not included in this list.trials are still going on but proper confirmation regarding this is not yet done by the govt.it may take some more time.till then children need to be kept under full safety precautions and given a good balanced diet n supplements for good immunity and other vaccines done timely. Nursing mothers can feed their child as soon as required after the vaccination very safely.it has no adverse effects on the baby.in case of any pain or feverv after vaccination,tab dolo can be taken which is safest during this period.

A. Dear parent, being a doctor I suggest the mother to get vaccinated for covid. I have seen pregnant mothers suffering with covid, it's better to safeguard the mother & the child from covid. I have vaccinated more than 300 mothers in last 2 months,no side effects have been reported so far. As the next wave is expected in the coming months it's must to protect the mother & the child by vaccination. stay safe.

A. Hi parent as per my opinion you should avoid it now days you can take second opinion from other gynecologist

A. Hi Thanks Manali ji for revert. our gynaecologist has suggested for vaccine. but we didn't find her answer that confident. so we are dicey. we want more option. and suggestions from pregnant lady who has opted for vaccine.

A. Hi parent I suggest you please wait otherwise I suggest you please consult with your gynecologist about this matter please take well balance diet with adequate quantity of water and sleep well
