#AskTheExpert Hi sir my baby is 3 and half months old .she is suffering from cold in past 3 weeks .Only nose is block at night and no coughing.what to do sir pls guide.

anti cold medicines are not given without medical consultation
what you can give now is nasal saline drops which is salt water and can be given again and again to decrease nasal blockage as well as cough ansd cold
try to prevent temperature variations around the child and keep the child well covered.
can give indirect steam inhalation .
anti-cold medicines at this age have got side effects so can be givesn only after medical consultation.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Cold is most of the time because of some viral infection or allergic condition and symptoms are usually sneezing, running nose, nasal congestion and fever. cough along with throat irritation are usually associated .
Treatment consists of antiallergic antipyretics analgesics and decongestants medicine .
As a home remedy steam inhalation would be very useful .
Medicines like wikoryl / tminic / Alekgx cold can be used in a proper dose for 3-5 days as per the symptoms .
Steam inhalation is repeated frequently .
