POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy6 months agoA. At 1 year and 3 months old, a baby weighing 8.2 kg is slightly on the lighter side, but healthy weight gain can be supported with a nutritious diet. Here are some foods to help:
Full-fat dairy: Offer milk, curd, paneer, and cheese in small amounts. Healthy fats: Add ghee or butter to khichdi, dal, or porridge. Eggs: Start with well-cooked egg yolk and later whole eggs if no allergy. Banana, chikoo, mango: These fruits are calorie-rich and easy to digest. Homemade foods: Suji halwa, dalia, rice with dal and ghee, vegetable khichdi. Dry fruits: Powdered almonds, cashews, or dates added to porridge or milk. Protein foods: Lentils, mashed beans, soft cooked chicken or fish (if non-veg is given).
Feed 4–5 small meals a day, along with breast milk or milk feeds. Keep track of growth monthly and consult your pediatrician if weight gain remains slow.
