#AskTheExpert Hi sir good morning.... my baby is one month 21days old..... on the 3rd day of birth she have jaundice and admitted to hospital and treated phototherapy for 48hours on the discharge total bilirubin level is 11.4 direct bilirubin is 0.9... after 15days again we tested total bilirubin is 11.8 and direct bilirubin is 0.8 ....still she looks yellow and her eyes looks yellow.....please tell me sir how many days it takes to get cured of jaundice..... yesterday i consulted the doctor .....he told it takes some more time to get clear..... and her stool color is yellow and she pee 7 to 10 tyms in a day..... I'm really scared of her plzzz tell me what to do and how many days request to get clear

A. is the bilirubin value 12 normal in 6 weeks baby...

A. Jaundice usually clears up within 2 weeks in formula-fed babies. It may last for more than 2 to 3 weeks in breastfed babies. If your baby's jaundice lasts more than 3 weeks, talk to his health care provider.
