#AskTheExpert Hi. Myself and my husband was are suffering from covid related symptoms but didn't get our test results yet. I have a baby of 5 months old and there is nobody to help and look after the baby. can you pls suggest what precautions should we take when we are nearer to the baby and what treatment should be given if baby develops symptoms like fever.

A. You CAN take care of and nurse your baby if you have COVID19. The safest place for your baby to be is with you and your milk! Breast milk provides antibodies to protect baby from contracting the virus or keeps baby from getting sicker. Always remember: Practice respiratory hygiene during feeding, wearing a mask at all times. Wash hands before and after touching the baby. Routinely clean and disinfect surfaces they have touched and they are going to touch.
