#AskTheExpert hi my son is 11weeks old, from the past 2 weeks he is passing mucus in his stool. doctor initially gave zifi(cefixime) for 10days but there was no improvement so doctor has now prescribed diof(Ofloxacin+Metronidazole) for 3days.is it safe to give antibiotics for such long duration at this age? Thank you.

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 5 m old boy4 years agoA. if the problem is not improving then it might be given but also get a stool examination which will tell which type of problem the child is having. . .
