Q.

#AskTheExpert hi my son is 11weeks old, from the past 2 weeks he is passing mucus in his stool. doctor initially gave zifi(cefixime) for 10days but there was no improvement so doctor has now prescribed diof(Ofloxacin+Metronidazole) for 3days.is it safe to give antibiotics for such long duration at this age? Thank you.

A. if the problem is not improving then it might be given but also get a stool examination which will tell which type of problem the child is having. . .

A. kindly follow your doctor's advice for the same because your baby is very small and your doctor knows your baby better and is giving the medication as per the requirement after checking your
