Q.

#Asktheexpert Hi my daughter is 45 days old.I still see her navel is not yet dry and attached pic for reference.May I know when it will be normal ? Do I need to do anything from my side to get it normal ?or will it go on its own?

A. umbilical granuloma / umbilical polyp they are usually remnants of umbilicus post delivery. usually does not require any type of majosr treatment except neosporine powder application or t-bact cream application and maintenance of hygiene and proper cleanliness. if it continues to persist beyond 6 months of age requires surgzical intervention like quarterization or ligation removal
