Q.

#asktheexpert hi... I have vaccinated my daughter at 10 months for MR . now at 16 months she is supposed to get another booster shot for MR . however the hospital has MMR vaccine this time. is it okay to go ahead?

A. it is always advisable to go for MMR vaccine which has got more immunity compared to only Mr vaccine mmr stands for measles mumps and rubella. you have to give three dosage of this vaccine at 9 months of age then at 15 months of age and at 5 years of age. vitamin a is usually given along with mmr vaccine. at present government covers only mr vaccine while in private mmr vaccine is available. mr vaccine stands for measles and rubella. at present in government set up only mr vaccine so mumps is not covered in mr vaccine.
