A. It's good to hear that your son has recovered from the viral fever. After a viral illness, the general recommendation for vaccinations is as follows:
Timing for Vaccination After Viral Illness
1. Recovery Period: It's typically advised to wait at least 1-2 weeks after the child has fully recovered from a viral illness before administering vaccinations. This allows the immune system to stabilize and ensures that the child is healthy enough to receive the vaccine.
2. Assessing Overall Health: Before getting vaccinated, ensure your son is completely asymptomatic and feeling well. If he still shows any signs of illness (like mild cough, runny nose, etc.), it may be best to wait until those symptoms resolve.
3. Consult Healthcare Provider: It’s always a good idea to consult your pediatrician or healthcare provider about the specific vaccination schedule. They can give you personalized advice based on your son’s health status and the specific vaccines he is due for.
Conclusion
Since your son’s medication for flu ended on September 23rd, it would be reasonable to wait until early October to get him vaccinated, provided he shows no signs of illness by then. However, for the best guidance, checking with your healthcare provider is recommended.
