#asktheexpert hi docter, my son completed 3 months and now for past 1 week he is keeping his hands in mouth and sucking too much.... what do we need to do pls suggest

A. this is Normal and you should not be worried as far this but still it whiould be better to get a proper guidance by your doctor regarding any such kind of query so that anything should not be missed . sho a proper examination can be done just to rule out any other possibility ...

A. Sucking is a natural reflex in newborns that helps them to feed. In some babies and children this reflex can develop into thumb sucking or sucking other fingers, which is a normal, comforting behaviour for young children. It can help them self-soothe, feel secure and help them go to sleep.
