#AskTheExpert hi doc. my baby is currently 20months old. she was given first dose of chickenpox vaccine at 15 months. as per vaccination chart the next dose should be at 5 years. however an intermediate dose at 21months is also prescribed by her doctor. is this dose optional or mandatory? I am confused coz the vaccination chart doesn't mention a dose at 20months and it has been separately put by the doc.

Author of questionGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. is chicken pox vaccine given at 20/21 months though? usually there are 2 vaccines given. one around 15mnths and another around 5 years. under what circumstances a third dose is required?
