Continue or start antibiotics: If already prescribed by a doctor, make sure she completes the full course. If not yet started, consult a pediatrician immediately for the right antibiotic.
Keep her hydrated: Encourage her to drink plenty of water, coconut water, or diluted fruit juices. This helps flush out the infection faster.
Hygiene is key: Clean her private area gently with water (not soap) after every bathroom visit. Wipe from front to back to prevent the spread of bacteria.
Avoid irritants: Don’t use bubble baths, strong soaps, or scented wipes, as these can worsen irritation.
Comfort: Let her wear loose, cotton underwear and change it daily. Avoid tight or synthetic clothes.
Soothing remedies: You can give her a warm water sitz bath for a few minutes to help relieve the pain and itching (with plain water only).
If pain continues for more than 1–2 days after starting antibiotics or she gets a fever, consult the doctor again to rule out a kidney infection. Let me know her age so I can give more specific advice if needed.
