#asktheexpert hello, I have to plan for 2 nd baby but i have taken 1 dose of cervical ( hpv) injection.. I have to wait for its dose completion or I can plan,.. this injection nll not have any side effect on my periods, or the future baby which we couple r thinking to plan

A. When exactly is your next dose? Although the HPV vaccine is not given during pregnancy but so far the studies have shown that even if the baby was exposed to the vaccine by mistake it doesn’t seem to have caused any effects on the baby. But it is always better to be on the safe side so better complete the dose and then take the vaccine and meanwhile start taking folic acid medication’s. The vaccine will not change your menstrual cycles
