#asktheexpert hello doctor, Two soft markers found in my Anomaly scan ( bilateral choroid plexus cysts and single echogenic focus in the left ventricle). my doctor told me about amniocentesis but also said that this test can cause miscarriage sometimes. So we are suggested to do fetal ECG. What is your suggestion as our double marker screen result has shown low risk..

A. If there are two markers usually it is better to evaluate it further: You better consult a fetal medicine specialist. Amniocentesis is better option to diagnose properly.ECG isn’t 100% accurate in diagnosing
