#asktheexpert Hello doctor.. my son is 5 month old and not drinking enough breast milk and I used to feed forcefully by extracting breast milk.. but nowadays he is not latching breast at all. what should I do.shall I stop giving extracted milk or what..

A. hi dear Many babies this age eat 4 to 6 ounces of formula about four to six times a day. Breastfeeding: You should be nursing baby every three or four hours but each breastfed baby may be slightly different.Formula is mixed with cooled boiled water and fed to babies in a bottle or cup. The nutrients in formula support a baby's growth during their first 6 months. Once they reach 6 months, they can start eating solids as well, but a baby should not drink regular cow's milk until they are at least 12 months old.
