Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. at this age the child should pass stool regularly.
if the consistency is hard and the child is having pain while passing stool it is considered as constipation.
give plenty of water and fibre diet to the child
it is important to give fibre diet from cereals pulses vegetables and fruits
avoid giving more than 400 ml milk everyday and avoid giving packet and processed foods as well as biscuits and refined food
adding papaya , fennelx seeds water , oats pear prunes pineapple banana kishmish to the regular diet will help in decreasing constipation.

I think due to constipation also your child may not be gaining weight because the previous dump is not clear then the child is not eating properly that’s why the weight gain may be getting affected so you need to start giving a laxative to the childhood reduce down constipation and once the system is going to be clear I think the digestion is going to be better and the weight will also increase
