#AskTheExpert hello doctor my child got a very small scratch from an iron gate yesterday and little blood came out, consulted a doctor who said your child is vaccinated so he doesn't need tetanus injection. plz confirm after vaccination tetanus injection is not required

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy3 years agoA. If your child has not been vaccinated for tetanus at all, he/she may not only need to get a tetanus shot, but also tetanus immunoglobulin to help provide immediate protection against tetanus, which is a potentially life-threatening disease.
