#AskTheExpert Hello Doctor, my baby is 7 months old. he hiccups alot, whenever he laughs or try to communicate with us he started getting hiccups for 10-15 minutes. Is it normal as I have seen many babies but they does not have such issues that is why I am worried

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy3 years agoA. It is because of the diaphragm muscle irritation and subsequent sudden contraction. The usual causes are sudden bloating of the stomach by air or food . Laugh or crying can also induce hiccups , but it's nothing to be alarmed about
