#asktheexpert Hello doctor, I wanted to ask a query that currently my son is 16 months old and we wanted to gradually reduce his dependency on mother feed. what approach we can follow? please suggest

A. dear parent it is recommended to continue breastfeeding till 2 years because of nutritional benefit and it also strengthens immunity. breastfeeding should be stopped gradually give filling meals drop one breastfeed every week father or other family member can help with feeding and putting child to sleep build a bedtime routine that does not revolve around breastfeeding

A. it's important to give solids that will also make child feel full for longer mothers feed at 16 month is difficult as lot of calcium also gets lost from mothers bone
