Q.

#asktheexpert Hello Doctor. I am seeing a recent development in my 17 month toddler boy that his knees and bending inwards and knock each other when he walks or runs. Therefore my kid has learnt to have a bouncy steps in order to avoid his knees knocking on each other. Does this need to be looked after as I was told it is bound to happen in kids this age group and is fairly common. Does this affect his normal walking style? Kindly guide me on this issue please. Thanks in advance.

A. Hi dear good morning nothing to worry about it much. babies attempt to walk between 13-18 months. Each baby is different in achieving milestones. Some may walk with support by 11 months. Just help your baby walk by holding baby's finger and teach your baby everyday. Slowly you can leave your hands after a distance. Or you can crawl like your baby, and they would hold you and walk that way. If it's getting delayed then you may see your doctor.
