#asktheexpert Hello Doc, We are using Cyproheptadine drops for my baby for appetite since a month but from a week we stopped using it and he lost his appetite and not eating anything. Should we continue using it or not.If we should continue can you please suggest us untill when we should continue using these.Thank you..

A. this medicine is a type of antihistaminic medicine which is very commonly given for migraine and other problems and the side effect of this medicine is increase in appetite. it is not advisable to give this medicine

Hi mom Consult your doctor once for proper medical examination and treatment Give two liquid diet followed by BM or formula milk Give seasonal fruits vegetables cereals mashed potato mashed banana porridge khichadi curd rice dal rice etc Wash area often with lukewarm water Wash your hands often before touching your baby
