#AskTheExpert. hello ai want to know that whether it is important to take Influenza vaccine or we can skip .As this vaccine is not available in Government Health centres

A. Influenza vaccine or the flu vaccine is basically a vaccine which protects against different strains of flu viruses including swine Flu virus which causes symptoms specially in children because of less immunity. Though it is not a mandatory vaccine but it should be given to every child to protect against different flu infection which is very common every year . this vaccine is given after 6 months of age and initially two doses are given one month apart then every year single dose isr required . It is not documented but still studies suggest that to some extent it gmay give partial protection against covid infection .

A. Hi mom Yes this is not available in government hospitals. It is important to take flu vaccine known as influenza vaccine as it reduces the chances of viral infections in ur child. Take care and all the best
