#AskTheExpert From last three days my baby is suffering from fever. Please tell me is this because of teething and what can I do?

A. Hello, your baby boy is 7 months old and he is teething and he has a fever so don’t worry it’s very normal for any baby at teething process so just give him plenty of water

A. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children. But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out . Antipyretic like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic acid are usually ghfiven to reduce fever . Cold sponging with lukewarm water is also helpful . Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .
