#asktheexpert breastfeeding mother can take medicine for cold and cough

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. take tablet cetirizine 10mg once a day and paracetamol 500 mg can be taken for fever as well as pain. (you can take all types of anti cold medicine and cough medicine along with paracetamol for cough and cold given by your doctor).
go for hot saline gargles at least 4 times per day and take tulsi ginger honey as well as turmeric with milk. you can continue breastfeeding if going on. if there is no improvement in 3 days it is advisable to meet the doctor.
to prevent the spread of cold and cough from mother to the child the mother has to do regulary hand washing and use face mask while giving breastfeeding and this will prevent spread of cold cough from mother to the child.
can take paracetamol for fever and pain.

AbhayaMom of a 15 yr 8 m old boy1 Year agoA. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much. Please do not take any medicine without consulting your doctor. You can take steam twice a day. You can also rub Vicks Vaporub on your nose and chest. Pleae give honey in lukewarm water to the mother. Also give Patanjali Shavasari syrup in lukewarm water to the mother. you can also give turmeric milk to the mother.
