#AskTheExpert baby temperature of 98.9 F is a fever ? should I be worried ? what should I do next ?

A. Fever is when the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which can be repeated after 6 hours again if required in a proper dose . Alternative medicine can also be tried if required like ibuprofen and mefenamic accid preparations. cold sponging of the wbhole body with tap water can be beneficial too to bring the temperature down .

A. Hi mom This is normal temperature. It is not fever. Give paracetamol to ur baby if the fever is above 100 F.. Repeat the dose after five six hours if fever comes again. Take care and all the best
