POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 months agoA. A baby’s head often feels warm because:
Normal body regulation – Babies have thinner skulls and more blood flow near the surface, so their heads can feel warmer than the rest of the body. Warm environment – Overdressing or a warm room can raise skin temperature, especially on the head. Mild fever – If the head feels warmer than usual and the baby seems fussy, sleepy, or not feeding well, check the temperature using a thermometer.
What to do:
Check body temperature with a thermometer. If it's above 100.4°F (38°C), it's considered a fever. Dress baby in light clothing and ensure proper room ventilation. Keep baby hydrated, especially if breastfeeding or formula feeding. Consult a doctor if there are signs like fever, unusual crying, vomiting, or decreased activity.
If there are no other symptoms, a warm head alone is usually not a concern.
