A. For a one-year-old baby experiencing multiple bowel movements with the third one being loose, consider the following: 1. **Hydration:** Ensure your baby stays well-hydrated. Offer oral rehydration solutions (ORS) or fluids like clear broths and diluted fruit juices to prevent dehydration. 2. **Monitor Diet:** Look at recent changes in diet. New foods or changes in diet can sometimes cause loose stools. Avoid giving new or potentially irritating foods until the diarrhea resolves. 3. **Probiotic Foods:** If your baby has been taking antibiotics or has digestive upset, introducing probiotic-rich foods like yogurt (if age-appropriate) can help restore healthy gut bacteria. 4. **Avoid Sugary Foods:** Reduce sugary foods and drinks, as they can sometimes worsen diarrhea. 5. **Observe Symptoms:** Monitor for any signs of dehydration (dry mouth, fewer wet diapers, or lethargy), fever, or blood in stools, and consult your pediatrician if these symptoms occur. If the loose stools persist for more than a couple of days, or if your baby shows any signs of dehydration or other concerning symptoms, seek medical advice to determine the appropriate treatment.
