Q.

#askthedoctory my baby is unable to latch properly so I am exclusively breast pumping. However, I get expressed milk more from the left breast and just half from the right breast. Please advise ways to increase the milk flow in the right breast? What is the right quantity of expressed breastmilk for him to take in each feed?

A. At the age of 1 month onward, most breastfed babies (those in the feed trough) consume around 25 oz (750 mL) per day. Depending on the baby, their milk intake varies from 19 to 30 oz per day (570-900 mL per day) depending on the level of milk consumed.
