Q.

#askdoctors I had breastfed my 21 months old after taking Covishield vaccine. She got allergic reaction all over the body with rashes after 2 days. Looks like mosquito bite. So, should I breastfeed after taking vaccine 2nd dose of vaccine. Is it recommended?

A. Yes presently you can breast-feed your baby even if you have been vaccinated and even if your baby had an allergic reaction. The government of India has issued guidelines that the vaccinated mother can breast feed the baby Write Your Answer Here

A. Hello dear parent! There shouldn’t be any problem. Give a gap of 1 hour between vaccination and feed if possible just to observe how you are responding after vaccination. Eat a well balanced healthy diet and keep yourself hydrated all through the day while breastfeeding your baby.
