Q.

#ask the expert# my boy baby was born preterm at 29 weeks.and was in nicu for 1 month.his birth weight was 1.37 and currently he has completed 4 months and weight is 4 kgs. since he is a preterm can i start solids at 6 months from his birth date or corrected gestational age 6 months? please let me know

A. yes, you may start semi solid food once your baby complete 6 month.. till than continue with Breast feeding or formula feeding, vit d drops, take very extra care of your child

A. U Should start with semisolid food at the age of six months only it really does not make a difference whether a child is full term one or peter you should start with semisolid food after completing the age of 96 months for the child whether it is the actual age or the other one that you are talking about so yes after the age of six months you can start and the child is gaining really good weight as of now
