Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. many times adenoids and tonsils are enlarged due to recurrent viral or bacterial infections as well as in allergic cough and cold.
you have to just control recurrent cough and cold due to any of the reasons and the child will not have more than reasonable increase in size of adenoid and tonsils.
any surgical intervention is required only if the child is having difficulty in breathing as well as difficulty in swallowing and difficulty in sleeping at nzight.
many times nebulization as well as inhalation sprays are given to decrease the size and you can follow your doctor in tshis.
it is advisable to give flu vaccination to the child which will help in decreasing the chances of viral fever as well as viral cough and cold
POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy2 years agoA. Give your child pain medicine as directed by your health care provider. Offer plenty to drink. Most children can eat and drink normally within a few hours after surgery, but you can start with soft foods like pudding, soup, gelatin, or mashed potatoes. Kids should take it easy for a few days after the surgery.
