Q.

9 month old baby ... coughs sometimes only .. checked with her doctor say chest mucus is present... no other symptoms. doc has said to give mucolite 1ml and montair 4mg chewable tablet with 5ml water. is it safe to give montair 4mg chewable tablet to 9month baby ?

A. medicine are given as per weight of the child. whenever there is confusion regarding the treatment given by your doctor and if you are not satisfied with the answers you can always take a second opinion of another doctor of the same field. weather a particular investigation or treatment is proper or not can be confirmed only after taking relevant history and doing proper examination of the child which will be done by the second doctor.

A. Absolutely if your doctor has suggested it it would be suitable and healthy for the child that is why they must have suggested you to go ahead with it mostly these drops are given to the child but if the doctors advising your chewable tablet that’s much better
