As soon as it happened, we showered her with tap water for around five minutes, and took her immediately to hospital. The doctor did the first aid and asked us to take the collagen application as the burn look superficial and the baby is too small to handle the pain. we immediately said ok as we could not see her suffer. the collagen treatment has to be done by a plastic surgeon who also came in two hours. they gave anaesthesia and cleaned all the dead skin and did the collagen application procedure. we had to be in the hospital for two days as she was given antibiotics through IV.. exactly after seven days, the whole dressing came of on its own, (as told by the surgeon)and the burn was completely healed..only thing is, the edges of the dressing cracked while stretching or lifting her leading to mild bleeding. It was scary but not to worry. doctor has adviced to apply mederma to reduce scar, and has assured that the scar will fade over time. babies are difficult, toddlers are more difficult. I still feel guilty for keeping the tea on the kitchen counter in a reachable distance. I still can't believe this had happened to my child. i scold myself for being careless. But my husband and people around me had given me the strength. Accidents happen, all accidents are avoidable. But you can't be blamed for it, stay strong.. take care. don't worry, the scar will fade over time
