Q.

1 month newborn having yellow eye discharge but no pink eyes. Having cold and cough, nasal congestion at night. Taking nasivion nasala drop and moxicip for eyes, maxtra for cold since 4 days now. Kindly suggest further.

A. continue medication.. You can remove any sticky liquid or crusting by bathing her eye with cooled boiled water and cotton wool.. it's preferable to visit your doctor, for further evaluation and exact treatment or management.

A. If your baby's eyes become red, puffy or sore, with a yellow or greenish discharge that can cause their eyelids to stick together, the eye may be infected. This is called conjunctivitis. You should always see your doctor if you think your child has an eye infection. It may need antibiotic eye drops or ointment.
