Breastfeeding-Not as easy as it sounds!

J Natrajan Mom of 2 children 6 years ago
Because of C section breastfeeding became bit difficult due to back and specially neck pain. The position also matters as some times I felt comfortable in one position but not always.
Mostly I fed sitting with pillow at back but later this was not possible as I was occupied with household work. so in hurry just fed wherever I was at home.

I made sure to wear saree when we are going out with my baby as with saree it is more comfortable.

Also I massaged my breast from seven month of pregnancy specially the nipple with santulan breast oil.

this helped for the nipple.

Though all difficulties breastfeeding is a real blessing because I have seen so many mother facing problem without sufficient milk.

Enjoy Breastfeeding

hi, i am mother of 5 months old girl. i agree with the statement ' breastfeeding is not as easy as it seems to be' . it is my first child. as everybody knows, it takes three days to stimulate first feed, in those three days, everyone was expert in stimulating feed, everybody pressed nipples according to them, they torn my nipples and made them sore. it was most difficult part i faced, still i kept my daughter on 100% breastfeed and due to which she never fall sick till the date. it took 3 months to completely recover from sore nipples. now i enjoy breastfeeding my child. .

I was prepared a lot and searched a lot about pregnancy but I never gave attention to breastfeeding, I thought as baby come out she will latch.. Its just that easy, no one told me that there aslo many difficulties. My pregnancy period was just awesome. My life's most lovely days.

But here is the catch.. My baby came through c section, I was not able to sit to latch her.. 2 days left.. Milk came but due to flat nipples I was not able to feed her, I dint know what to do.. To much depression as well as pain.. My mother was trying to make nipples by tieing thread n all.. But i was sure there must b some solution for this.. I bought breast pump, n started pumping n giving my milk to her.. She was exclusively on formula.. Pumping helped me to stable my milk supply. I used to try to feel baby but no success... My hands used to get pain due to pumping, n back pain was severe as in one hour I used to pump only 50 to 75 ml... Husshhhhhh

And on 21st day after baby born... She latched successfully.. Omg what a relief it was.. Then I dint realize how days left.. Now she is 16 months old and still on breastfeeding exclusively.. And I'm very happy.

I would suggest FTMs to get prepared for this in advance, search about it.. Have everything handy.. Like breast pump, nipple shield, nipple puller.. Etc..

Make charts about diet for milk supply n all.. Before delivery itself... It would be a good relief

If u do it, u will never face post partem depression :))

Love u mama's.. Tkcr
Same problem I was facing to breastfeed baby. After continues 3 month of hard effort got success and now my 4 month old baby takes exclusively brest milk.

my child is 6mnth old..i have regular pain in legs knees n legs.i m taking calcium during pregnancy n now also i am breastfeeding..but unable to sit on knees or feet? may i knw the reason for this?n what should i do?
it means calcium is being taken up from bones. I am sharing my strategy with you might be it can help you. first thing get enough sleep as body get time to repair during sleep. drink two glass of milk and I bowl of curd in a day. it's minimum you can have more if you relish milk. and one glass of milk should be after dinner and it's best if warm. eat jeggery after meals. try to make veggies in iron pots( avoid cooking tomato based curries). have a good breakfast no refined flour. mix grain Dalia preferably with brown sugar or jeggery. eat almonds. apply mustered oil on legs and sit in direct sunlight for fifteen minutes. eat whenever you feel hungry and most importantly forgot about weight gain and eat fulfilling meals as weight will be managed after baby start crawling. best if luck
