It's not easy to be a mother of a low birth weight baby .My sons birth weight was 2.3 kgs and low weight 2.1 kgs he was so small that he used to take close to 15-20 minutes to latch , it wasn't easy for both of us as I had undergone c section and baby used to feed for 45 minutes to 1 hour at a stretch initially. I had engorgement , had fever because of that but still had to feed him , Gradually we both understood each other now we share a very deep bond because of breastfeeding.

Latching was a problem initially. Lots of frustration and fear that the baby might starve actually made me to formula feed my LO and also pump. But later I realised that if I persisted and stuck to trying to Breastfeed it actually worked. And there is nothing in this world that will give a mom better satisfaction than breastfeeding.
was the same situation with me...but gradually I and my baby learned how it works :)

my baby is one month old and is not able to have breastmilk easily. he tries but isn't able to hold the nipple and suck. I've introduced feeding bottle from yesterday that he is able to suck very well. I don't understand how should I make him have breastmilk comfortably.

I was prepared a lot and searched a lot about pregnancy but I never gave attention to breastfeeding, I thought as baby come out she will latch.. Its just that easy, no one told me that there aslo many difficulties. My pregnancy period was just awesome. My life's most lovely days.

But here is the catch.. My baby came through c section, I was not able to sit to latch her.. 2 days left.. Milk came but due to flat nipples I was not able to feed her, I dint know what to do.. To much depression as well as pain.. My mother was trying to make nipples by tieing thread n all.. But i was sure there must b some solution for this.. I bought breast pump, n started pumping n giving my milk to her.. She was exclusively on formula.. Pumping helped me to stable my milk supply. I used to try to feel baby but no success... My hands used to get pain due to pumping, n back pain was severe as in one hour I used to pump only 50 to 75 ml... Husshhhhhh

And on 21st day after baby born... She latched successfully.. Omg what a relief it was.. Then I dint realize how days left.. Now she is 16 months old and still on breastfeeding exclusively.. And I'm very happy.

I would suggest FTMs to get prepared for this in advance, search about it.. Have everything handy.. Like breast pump, nipple shield, nipple puller.. Etc..

Make charts about diet for milk supply n all.. Before delivery itself... It would be a good relief

If u do it, u will never face post partem depression :))

Love u mama's.. Tkcr

"matritva" is incompletw without feeding ur baby.. but it is the 2 nd most challanging thing for a mom after giving birth ... as I delivered my baby I faced a lot of problems while feeding my baby as my breasts engorged and nipples were sore n cracked.. and I was just helpless and at the same time worried abt my baby bcz when she was feeding she sucked up some blood from cracked nipples to.. that moment was very panic for me as a mother... and the problem persist till 3 months.. and now my baby is 7 month old.... one thing I found is that "u just have to be patience all the time"n the smiling face of ur baby wll make u forget all things...
How did you cope with that as first time mom I am also facing same issue....my daughter is26 days old and always want to breastfeed but because of pain in my nipples I have to give her top feed and it makes me feel more guilty as mother...... I am not able to understand what to do???????
