What pH Value One Should Look For While Choosing a Baby Care Product?

When a baby is born the skin pH is 7 unlike adult's healthy skin which has a pH of 5.5. Moreover, the baby’s skin is 20% thinner and very delicate hence needs specialized care. Using alkaline baby skin and hair care products with a pH >7 even if they are natural can damage the protective barrier, leading to skin dryness and roughness and might lead to increase in skin infections.Tell us what do you think about using pH 5.5 products for your baby's healthy skin.Gratification - 3 Lucky Winners to get a SebaMed Gift Hamper worth Rs. 800

Yes, its true as PH for babies is considered to be 5.5 and that of other people it ranges from 4.5-6. I prefer sebamed and babyhug products since my baby was a new born as many other products can be either too acidic or alkaline.

Any pH value other than 5.5 can severely damage sensitive skin of babies. To protect & maintain my baby’s smooth, supple skin, I always look for products which have the pH value of 5.5.
