I believe pregnancy lasts for the same duration either you have a boy or a girl.

you take same medications.

you go through the same checkups

same amount of labour pain

after the baby is born you put in same efforts to take care of them

so having a baby girl or boy was not my priority neither was my families priority. All we needed was a healthy baby infact we bought a hairband and a pink dress as a babies first outfit and we felt a bit disappointed seeing a girl.

if it had been a girl I feel we all would have loved her a bit more

yes there is discrimination. though in educated families as well but they couldn't say it openly. but whenever they bless you they say soon u will be blessed with a son. so how it can be change. the change could only be brought by ladies only. bcz it's only lady, being a lady, lady still prefers first child be a boy not female baby. I won't say boys are not wanted. The thing is, its natural whatever it is just welcome with open heart. though my first child is also a boy and I really love him alot. the thought could only be change if be make our daughters so independent that they become the helping hands of their parents. And they could take care of themselves at any point of time. than only the change would come. thanks

my oersonal experience it matters in educated families too. not to the new parents. but to their families it matter hellalot. we had a boy recently, our first child, even the first child in family(i live in a joint family) after complications . me and my husband, we both are doctors , his parents are educated too. but erest of the family not so much. in our family matter was he s boy. and that is a causr of tension. as my husband is youngest in family. and he has a boy. the elder one dont have a baby yet. so not only girls are being discriminated if u look in to so much respectful society u will find boy too are discriminated

Yes there is discrimination in our society but no matters u have boy or girl because in today's time having a child is more important. some people are facing so many problems in having kid so i guess just pray to God for kid either boy or girl God wish

Both are equal , but I always want a girl to dress her and recall my childhood too ....
