A Boy Child or a Girl Child have been treated differently since ages. A desire of having a \'Son\' rather than a \'Daughter\' is still there in most parts of the country.Does it really matter for you? Why do you think our society has this preference for having Son rather than Daughter?

Good question...but that time both are equal (girl or boy)
Now a days both are equal. But few people still ask for baby boy.
we can clear this difference by giving good education to girl child and respect to females.
Government has already come up with many facilities for girls which anyway increase demand of baby girl like one girl child education which is free.

Really a nice question by First Cry..For me both r equal... gender should be taken in positive way...and this is the best combination by God...and God blessed me and I pray for all.

A big No, its just state of mind but reality is different, its doesn\'t matter you have boy or girl thebonly matter is smile of your baby ehich gives world best joyable things in the world.

I don\'t think this things matters for me. I feel everyone is equal. But I want to say that those who wants bot rather than a girl child, now a days girls can do everything & can do better than the boys. Now a days girls are excellent in each & every field, so plz give a chance to girl she will proof herself.

yes there is discrimination. though in educated families as well but they couldn\'t say it openly. but whenever they bless you they say soon u will be blessed with a son. so how it can be change. the change could only be brought by ladies only. bcz it\'s only lady, being a lady, lady still prefers first child be a boy not female baby. I won\'t say boys are not wanted. The thing is, its natural whatever it is just welcome with open heart. though my first child is also a boy and I really love him alot. the thought could only be change if be make our daughters so independent that they become the helping hands of their parents. And they could take care of themselves at any point of time. than only the change would come. thanks

I was dreaming for a baby girl but it was not so important for us whether our baby will be a boy or girl, because we all wanted a healthy baby, that\'s it. God has fulfilled our wish, please pray for him so that he can do something good for this mother planet.
