A Boy Child or a Girl Child have been treated differently since ages. A desire of having a 'Son' rather than a 'Daughter' is still there in most parts of the country.Does it really matter for you? Why do you think our society has this preference for having Son rather than Daughter?

Society has this preference because i have this preference, and the society changes when i as individual changes.

I personally love both genders, but i’d prefer to have one of my kids to be a boy to carry out my family name. But that never means i’d be disappointed having girls or i would treat my kids differently. i hope i don’t end up being in that position ever.

Am afraid if its gonna sound offensive but i think this could be one of the concerns of parents.

For a mother having a baby is itself a blessing..and being a mother I really enjoy my motherhood and it doesn't matter to me whether it's a boy or girl. Holding her in my arms makes me feel complete and soul soothing. But it's really very sad that in our country still there is preference for having boy rather than girl child. This is due to the increase in crime and safety issue regarding girls, dowry system, mentality girls not equal to boys etc which must be eradicated soon.

Both should be treated equally. But the society and attitude of few people show boys are superior and want a boy kid. Even in few forms and few situations they ask for father name first instead mother name like an example which shows male superiority. So this continues.....

I would rather say its opposite now.... Every parent dream of a girl child.... During pregnancy every one told me I will have a boy by seeing bump and i was no excited... I only wished for a healthy baby never said I want a girl or a boy. But, deep inside we both wanted a girl... Even during the surgery when my daughter was born my doctor congratulated me saying it's a girl but I was lost in my baby' s cry that I didn't hear n thought it's a boy and I was happy. The time they showed me my baby and asked me the gender I bumped into joy and screamed in happiness it's a girl... I started crying with happiness and so was my family they were overjoyed to hear it's a girl coz everyone deep inside wished for a girl :) Girls are blessings of God... We were really blessed with my daughter <3

For me doesn't matter. I m mother of a son and and this time I pray God please bless me with a girl child....

Only the lucky ones have the chance of having a daughter. A daughter's love for her parents is always genuine and can and will never match that of a son.
