What were the challenges in your breastfeeding journey and how did you overcome it?
Before having baby, I always thought breastfeeding is very easy, considering stories of my mother and sister who were blessed with good(over) lactation.
I presumed it will naturally come to me. But to my dismay, when my son was born, I could not even produce 15 ml of milk. I was literally in tears, questioning my capabilities of being a mother of new born. I started pumping, which was tedious, painful for my back and sleep devastating. Still, I was adamant to breast feed(which I sometimes regret) alongwith artificial milk. Summarising my main challenges and how I overcame are as follows:
1. My boy came to me after 24 hours post C secn, by then he already had been bottle fed. Sucking milk takes some energy for the baby, so my boy was least interested in sucking from breast. This came as surprise to me, since I thought infant can easily suck. So, till 3 months , he was on both pumped breast milk and powder milk. After that one fine day, I stopped giving him bottle feed, after a day of crying , he finally started breast feeding, which he kind of forgot.
2. I took so much of stress to lactate, that I could not lactate. Yes, stress dries up lactation. Finally after discussion with my mother, sister , husband and paediatric, I consoled myself that breastfeeding is not for all. Still keeping on trying should not be a stressful activity.
3. Comparing appetite of infants with others. The stomach of infant is smaller than fist , so the kid may feed little. We should not compare much with other infants of different ages, because all kids are different.Some mey be voracious drinkers and some may be miser (like mine).
4. Home remedies for increasing lactation. Some remedies may work, but don\'t try all at once. You may upset your stomach or appatite. Stick to the one suiting you and trust it .
The above were some of my major challenges. Still, I will say, every body is different, every mother is different. If you can lactate well, feed your kid, it\'s elixir of life for him/her. But if you can\'t, there are good options available in market, keep on trying if you want to, but don\'t lose your mind(like I did).

as I had c-section very painful for some days and she was my first child so didn\'t have experience of feeding a child I took 10- 15 days to learn how to feed a child properly Its a best feeling I could ever had it directly connect u with the child and give very special feeling

What were the challenges in your breastfeeding journey and how did you overcome it?
I am a mother of triplets so the challenge has began from the very first day, somehow i managed to feed my triplets. When noble COVID 19 hit the world, I was all alone with my triplets without any help and even my husband was sailing. With a very heavy heart and regret i have stopped breastfeeding, my babies were only 4 month\'s.

i have preterm boy baby after birth he started with tube feeding its not easy to change palaadai feeding for that he taken 5 days to accpt for palaadai but to accpt breast feeding taken more than 6month still not taking completely.

I am working woman so this was very difficult for me to be available everytime my child need milk so I choose Philips breast pump and it make my life easier... so thanks to firstcry nd Philips for making life easier when there is no hope🥰🥰🥰

As such,I didn\'t faced any challenge while breastfeeding.After birth of my child I switched from regular Bra to Breastfeeding Bra. That help me lot.
