Five Travelling Hacks for Smart Moms in 2022
So finally, 2022 looks to be the year we will be travelling like the old normal, and I am sure your summer vacation plan has started! After all, travelling is something the kids have missed a lot (and yes, so have we!) among the many other things since 2020!
Here are some tips to help you enjoy your much-needed holiday time as you re-plan your deferred trip plans for 2020-2021.
1. Use Your Smartphone Smartly
Make a list of the default things you always require to pack, including toiletries, medicines with names, your child favourite toys etc. This will be handy if you have to pack last minute without the worry of losing out on anything while on vacation! Make a separate list of the check-in bags and hand-carry bags. Maintain an independent list for your items (at least have a total of 3 lists) And edit it from time to time as required. This comes in handy when you need to take a vacation on short notice.
2. Keep It Compact for Carrying the Essentials of the Family
Yes, we generally carry the whole house while on vacation with the kids, make it light by utilising miniature versions of amenities, such as travel bottles of shampoos, soaps, bottle cleaners, and other items, rather than the large ones we use at home. This will save space and weight in the bag. Once you’ve returned from your vacation, refill them to have them handy if you intend on going away for the weekend—ah, peace of mind!
3. Snack up!
Snacks are the most important part of any trip outside the home. So bring the homemade ladoos, chiwda, cookies, and other treats that your child or children adore. Remember to bring along your favourite snacks, which are simpler to keep for extended journeys. If you don’t want to stack tiffins, use zip pounces for dried snacks like chiwda and opaque boxes for fresh snacks like parathas, ladoos, and so forth.
4. Be Organised
We also have to unpack and pack again, so make sure you carry enough pouches for inner-wear, seasonal clothes separately in another bag and so on. Even label it if it’s not a transparent pouch. It will take less time to unpack and pack back again.
5. Bonus Tip
If you’re travelling within India, look up the zip code of the hotel or place of stay where you’ll be staying and see if the online delivery platform you’re using delivers there. In this situation, you can save a lot of space in your bag by pre-ordering the diapers that will be delivered at the hotel when you arrive and then using them up without taking up space in your bag-great!
I wish you a wonderful vacation and would love to know where you are going with your kids so that other readers can benefit as well!
