A. Hi Mom, Shaving does not affect the thickness or rate of hair growth. Many believe that shaving the head once or several times as the child grows, will make the new hair growth stronger. Though many parents and families swear by this, but research has shown that shaving doesn't make hair grow back faster or thicker. If you feel that you must try something to help your baby's hair grow, you can offer your baby healthy meals rich with minerals and vitamins. Eating well is beneficial for y our baby's hair as well as overall growth.
