POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due in 1 month3 months agoA. It’s common for babies to spit up a little milk after burping, and it’s usually not a cause for concern. This happens because their digestive system is still immature, and the valve between the stomach and esophagus (called the lower esophageal sphincter) is not fully developed. If your baby is otherwise healthy, gaining weight, and not uncomfortable, occasional spitting up is normal. To reduce it, try keeping your baby upright for 20–30 minutes after feeding, avoid overfeeding, and ensure proper burping during and after feeds. If the spit-up is forceful or your baby is fussy, consult your doctor.
