what to do when I am breastfeeding the baby , bites ..what to do ? if bleed occurs so how to continue breast feeding..should we give milk from rhe same breast

afreen wasimMom of a 3 yr 6 m old boy2 years agoA. hlo mommy u can use nipple shield from baby hug brand while breastfeeding u dont get harm if u r suffer from nipple pain now u just apply coconut oil till recover and clean with warm water with the help of muslin cloth and use nipple shield take care

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 8 m old boy2 years agoA. babies bite while breastfeeding for several reasons -poor latch/ attachment -too much milk flow -low milk supply -a cold or stuffy nose -being full -distraction or boredom -teething you can calmly say something such as “no biting” as you remove your breast don’t pull your baby off too quickly. removing a baby that is still firmly latched can cause more injury to your nipple. to ease the pain and protect your nipples, you can try: -nipple cream, such as purified lanolin -cold packs -nursing on the unbitten side first — breastfeeding tends to be most vigorous at the beginning of a nursing session -pain relievers that are safe for breastfeeding, such as paracetamol and ibuprofen can be taken -using a pump to maintain your milk supply as you heal biting is usually a temporary problem ands babies quickly learn to stop. a lactation consultant can help you find strategies to continue breastfeedingz for as long as you and your baby wish.
