weaning food chart for 8 months baby

A. give variety of food groups
Soft, mashed and hygienically prepared foods like porridges (like rice, Ragi, wheat flour , moong dal and rice flour mix)
dal-rice with vegetables, veg khichadi,
kheer,
soft mashed fruits,
curds,
mashed paneer cheese
Vegetable Daliya
consistency of food should be like that of ghee
avoid water thin foods like thin dals and rice water, soups and fruit juices as they do not provide enough nutrition and fill stomach.
add ghee/oil on top of food for making it energy dense and squeeze some lemon where possible to increase iron absorption.
give about half katori per meal about 3 meals per day.
give 1 food for about 3-6days for baby to accept and to see how baby tolerates it then introduce another new food
you can start giving finger foods from 8-10 month onwards. avoid foods that can choke like grapes, nuts and raw carrot pieces. give pieces of soft fruits like banana, chickoo, foods like idli, dhokla (fermented foods are healthy) , besan chila,
continue to breastfeed
