VERY RELEVANT QUERY FOR MANY LACTATING MOTHERS REGARDING TO COVID VACCINATION.. it is in news today that lactating mothers can take the Covid vaccination jab as agreed to recommendation of NTAGI.. have taken the jab two weeks ago being a frontline worker and had stopped feeding my 22 month baby.. can I resume now and shall mothers have to wait for certain no of days after vaccination or can continue feeding from the day the jab is taken??

A. I don’t think you need to stop breast-feeding your baby just because you took the vaccination. Lactating mothers can take the vaccination and still breast-feed the babyWrite Your Answer Here

A. Dear Rashmi Ma'am, as it wasn't recommended from our govt due to clinical trials and relevancy lactating mothers were out of taking the jab but once it is recommended nationally I don't think we can say that it is not recommended to feed coz there are many mothers whose babies are under 6 months and are on milk; otherwise there should have been proper guidelines for which lactating mothers it is to be given... My post was for getting the same on a more clear note.. tlhanks for your response and giving it a thought..🙂

A. Ma’am See mostly it’s not recommended for a lactation mother to have this vaccination but if you’re already had it at least wait for 10 to 15 days if you want to feed your child because initially your immunity goes down and then it boosts up but mostly it is recommended not to continue breastfeeding the child but if you want you can resume it after maybe 15 days
