VishruthaMom of 2 children4 years agoA. Hi momma, join Gentle Parenting India group on fb for help on similar issues. Try to be patient and know that it is an expected behavior of a 6 year old and do not label him as hyperactive.
Try to get him to do more physical activity to help in focus.. small indoor trampoline, slide , gymnastics, swimming, parks, running, balance bike. It should be noticed that when kids have high energy he will not be able to sit and concentrate on any activities
Gamification of studies really helps them enjoy learning - my daughter goes to a IB school in Denmark and she has learnt addition through treasure hunt. .... I hope she will continue to love learning through these methods. .
.
Can understand your hard time.
But first try to understand this pandemic kids are going more pressure then .
Try this
1.Listen to kids whenever they come to us, listening is getting down to their eye level where ever you are without prejudgemental, without scrolling mobile or tv or work.
2.Give more time for unstructured play which will helps to find solution by himself.
3.Allow them to get bored which he will develop new ideas.
4.Make a schedule for his day.
5.childrens are copy cat so try to have a habit of reading books before him, tell him it's study time for mama so no one should disturbs until emergency.
6.scolding or yelling will not give result take a deep breath and check voice tone before giving instructions.yelling or scolding will create more disconnection between you both.
7.make a special time daily with him for 10mints and tell him it's boy n mama time we can play or talk as you wish.Don't give him instruction , command or correct until it's dangerous.
8.Have a bed time story reading .
