Q.

sir , when my daughter was born she was 2.4 kg in weight. now her weight is around 6 kg . Is this weight ok ? She is not drinking milk from a week.what should i do?

A. 5.5 to 8.7 kg is the average weight range for this age group. she seems to be fine. There could be some reasons like stomach pain or the feeding position is not comfortable or the milk supply is low or the flow is thin which makes him to suck more or colic pain or reflux or any other illness like cold or fever etc.,. Any of these could be causing the baby to resist breastfeeding or cry. If this continues you can get ur baby examined by your pediatrician once. Your baby should be peeing anywhere between six to ten times a day which means the baby is taking feeds properly. Also there should be a gradual weight gain. Keep a check on these factors.
